Default The best Move for the British Economy?

Heya all,
Just been investigating a few things and I want to Air my Thoughts here and get some feedback.

With the looming/in progress Euro crisis, and the leaked German Memo outlining their plans for a "EU Superstate"-like financial commission with the ability to run a countries economy if they spend or borrow outside of EU set Guidelines. I have been thoroughly worried about the state of the UK's Finances in the face of this.

Basically, What do you all think of the idea of The UK pulling out of this big Mess called the EU? As has been proposed by a huge number of MPs and Tory backbenchers.

A good move from our government as far as our economy is concerned would be to pull out, before the Euro Crashes completely and drags us out with it. If the pound severs ties, and the euro collapses, the Pound will almost certainly re-stabilise from the European businesses placing their trust and money in our economy. Not only does this help with our economic problems right now, but it puts us in a strong place for the future.

While I accept that this will not be great for our relations with other countries, it cannot be seen as anything other than us saying, "You won't take us down with you". This is what not committing to the Euro gave us in the first place, the freedom of choice with our financial and economic decisions.
