For those that wish it, the facility to have any prizes that one wins
paid directly into a nominated bank account has become available. NS&I
appear to have launched new services of phone and online access. They
already have online access for their ISA, but are now doing Premium
Bonds as well. Part of the online access is payment of prizes into a
nominated bank and email notification. Allegedly, this service was
started on 29 Dec 2010 (so last week, really!)

have any future prizes paid directly into your bank account (email
address required so we can notify you)

OMG!!! FINALLY! AT LAST! I'm very happy that NS&I have made direct
payment available but it's been a very long time coming (I think the
first press item I have about paying prizes direct into a bank account
is dated June 2003!)
