100% efficient so far. And a halfway decent rate guarantee.

I've been with them for around a year with no problems. I seem to recall
they didn't need the _original_ documents as proof of identity. A cheque
or transfer from a UK bank account in the same name as the account being
opened and photocopies of passport/driving licence were all that was
required.

I've been with them for about half a year. it all seems to work
smoothly. When I forgot my login details I phoned the helpline and
spoke to a helpful human at once.

Just say "Eg talar ekki nema daulitidh i izlenzku." when you ring.

I have been with them since they opened for business in earnest in the
UK.

They were very bad at start up - transferring ISAs in took a terrible
time - but I assume that was due to the volume of transactions.

I have found them good since the teething problems.

(They are of course not a clearing bank so transfers do take a few
days - with the money in limbo at that time so you get a loss of
interest)

They're excellent, in my experience. Been with them for 15 months now and
never had a single problem. All bank transfers/direct debits occur in the
regular time period (two/three working days), the website always works, the
interest rates have (so far) been very good and they opened my account
incredibly quickly.

Get the thumbs up from me.

What a mistake that investment was..... despite being reassured by all here
who have accounts. Now even iceland backing out of its depositor guarantee
for foreign investors.
I must admit to losing a lot of sleep over this and recent events...and am
now reassessing my risk profile.
My father who was a chartered accountant had the right idea....either in one
of the most stable (but unexciting) banks in the world HSBC, or in the
pseudo bank of england, NS&I.

Most people got their money out in time.
Yesterday the BBC reported 350,000 people had accounts. Today they are
reporting 'tens of thousands' of accounts.

Apples and oranges - 350k account holders, 10s of K who hold £50k, and
were thus outside the guarantee. Of course if Iceland reneges on their
part of the guarantee, many more will be losers without UK government
assistance.
